Tracey Allen is the Senior Director of Professional Learning at the Butte County Office of Education. She oversees the Butte Teacher Induction Program and the Educational Technology Department. With over 20 years of experience, Tracey has served as an elementary school teacher, instructional coach, educational consultant, and elementary school principal. She has presented at numerous local, state, and national conferences on topics ranging from effective instructional practices to leadership development. Tracey is passionate about supporting educators at all stages of their careers and takes pride in connecting with innovative educators nationwide.
Laurie York has served as an Educational Technology Coach at Butte County Office of Education since 2018. Laurie is a K-6 Educator with 19 years of experience in education, including thirteen as an elementary school teacher. A Google for Education Certified Trainer, Laurie co-founded North State CUE and has served as both President and Vice President of the organization. A former moderator for #CAEdChat, she is dedicated to improving the educational experiences of #CARuralEd students and educators through the use of technology.
Janet Brownell has been an Educational Technology Coach with the Butte County Office of Education since 2018. A 7-12 Educator with over 25 years of experience as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, and professional development provider, Janet is also a Google for Education Certified Trainer. She specializes in science, math, and engineering, with a deep passion for accessibility, feedback, and transformative instructional practices. Janet is dedicated to building strong connections among educators, helping them access high-quality teaching tools, streamline their workflows, and cultivate a sense of community within their profession.
Jacob Carr is an Educational Technology Coach for the Butte County Office of Education, joining in 2024. He specializes in EduProtocols and artificial intelligence, leveraging his expertise to modernize education. An accomplished author and international keynote speaker, Jacob is recognized for consulting with schools and delivering impactful professional development across the country. With a diverse teaching background in grades 1-3 and 6-12, he has worked in traditional and charter settings, including hybrid independent study and Waldorf education.
Anna Brink-Capriola joined the Butte County Office of Education as an Educational Technology Coach in 2024. A bilingual K-12 educator with over a decade of experience in both local and international teaching, mentoring, and training, Anna focuses on building capacity within diverse, multilingual classrooms. She supports teachers in creating culturally responsive, technology-enhanced environments and integrating social-emotional learning. Through her work, Anna guides educators use digital tools and robotics to streamline their work, feel empowered, and rediscover joy in teaching.
