Meet the Team

 
Tracey Allen is the Senior Director of Professional Learning for Butte County Office of Education where she oversees the Butte Teacher Induction Program and the Educational Technology Department. Over the last 20+ years, Tracey has had the privilege of serving as an elementary school teacher, instructional coach, educational consultant, and an elementary school principal. She has presented at numerous local, state and national conferences on a variety of topics ranging from effective instructional practices to leadership seminars. She is passionate about learning, growing and supporting all educators throughout their careers and takes great pride in connecting with energetic and innovative educators around the country.  
 
Janet Brownell is an Educational Technology Coach and Google Certified Trainer with the Butte County Office of Education. She began her educational career teaching adult computer classes and helping educators leverage the power of computer software tools. She spent 20 years teaching high-school chemistry, physics, and engineering where she infused her classroom with technology in order to make the learning environment relevant, inclusive, and engaging. She has been a presenter at conferences such as CUE, California League of Schools Technology Conference, Design Leadership Conference, ETC! Technology Conference, Connecting Conservation & Technology Workshop, and others. It is her mission to connect teachers to better tools, more efficient workflows, and to each other.
 
Laurie York is currently an Educational Technology Coach for the Butte County Office of Education. Prior, she spent thirteen years as a fourth-grade teacher. She is a co-founder and current Vice President of North State CUE, a CUE affiliate inspiring innovative learners in Northern California. She is also a Google for Education Certified Trainer, a moderator for #CAEdChat on Sunday nights, and a Seesaw Certified Educator. Her passion for connecting #CARuralEd teachers and administrators through 21st Century teaching and learning is woven into each of her roles.
